Northview Titans Junior Varsity Boys Game Summary
Northview v. Milton 0-0

After the horrific weather on Monday resulted in the cancellation of their last game, Northview kicked off against Milton in a pleasant 69 F temperature. Northview quickly attacked Milton whose goalkeeper had to kick clear. Milton's first presence in the Northview half was broken up by Ramu Annamalai.
After 5 minutes, Russell Bradford beat a Milton defender & went for the goal but the Milton keeper again kicked clear. Northview kept the pressure on Milton & Sam Bevan got off a good shot on goal. A few minutes later Northview went through the Milton defense & for the third time, the keeper kept it out of the net. Next it was Cameron Greenburg's turn to get in a good shot on goal which was well blocked by the keeper.
Northview nearly took the lead after 16 minutes when Russell Bradford rounded the goalkeeper but his angled shot hit the side netting. Milton's first chance came a couple of minutes later but they shot high and wide. They then had another chance but Titan Keeper Aaron Kim blocked the quick shot. At 23 minutes Northview brought the ball down nicely and it was fed to Alex Tertichny who shot on goal. Steve Kim played the ball to Jason Alwes who had a good shot. After 29 minutes, Sam Bevan's shot beat the goalkeeper but came back off the post.
The last 2 minutes of the first half saw each team get a free kick just outside the box, but the defensive walls kept together & blocked the shots.
Milton made a better start to the second half but at 37 minutes Pall Kornmayer started a good move with Steve Kim who beat two defenders and had a good shot on goal. From a free kick a Milton defender headed the ball out to Josh Hoehn whose long range shot went wide. Alex Tertichny & Josh Hoehn then teamed up for a good move and Hoehn's shot just missed the right hand goal post.
Northview was lucky to survive in the 48th minute when Milton had two chances for a good shot on goal but missed on both occasions. Milton had a good spell but the Northview defense with Ross Cantrell & Josh Dunn kept them at bay.
Northview had two corner kicks in the 57th minute as they put the pressure back on Milton. Milton had a shot saved by Aaron Kim before Northview got their 3rd corner in the 65th minute.
With 5 minutes left, Northview pushed really hard for the winner. Pall Kornmayer turned well and had the defense at full stretch. Tyler Dewitt then made a good cross which Josh Taylor headed just over the bar. At 68 minutes, Russell Bradford took a free kick from 38 yards which produced a full length save from the Milton keeper. Following the corner, Milton had their last chance which our Titan Keeper. In the dying seconds Sam Bevan took a free kick which the Milton keeper bobbled but eventually picked up. Ending score 0-0 tie!
Great performance by the JV Titan Boys who were very unlucky not to register their first win.
