Northview Titans Junior Varsity Boys Game Summary
Northview v. Collins Hill - 1-3
April 17th
The bad thing about this game was that it was AT Collins Hill. The traffic was so bad that many parents were late & this intrepid reporter arrived just in time for the second half. The good thing, from a reporting perspective, but not a coaching one, was that nothing really happened in the first 35 minutes & there was no score at half-time.
Within 2 minutes of the 2nd half, the Eagles nearly took the lead as they had a quick break towards the Titan penalty area forcing Carter Rhoad to run outside the penalty box to clear the ball. The clearance went straight to a Collins Hill player whose long range shot went over the bar. It was constant pressure from Collins Hill & they took the lead in the 38th minute. Northview were in disarray & immediately lost the ball from the kick off allowing the Eagles to attack yet again forcing Carter Rhoad to make another save.
Northview pulled themselves back into the game a couple of minutes later when Jarrod Neser received the ball from the throw-in & passed to Steve Kim who scored to make it 2 – 1.
In the 53rd minute, Jarrod Neser had a shot saved by the Eagles’ goalkeeper & from the clearance, Collins Hill took the ball down the field to extend their lead to 3 – 1.
Final score Northview 1 – 3 Collins Hill
