Goal Club Meeting Minutes
March, 2007
Russell Whorton called the meeting to order.
Fred Van Patten spoke regarding the golf tournament fundraiser. We have committed to St. Marlo a minimum of 80 golfers for a shotgun start. We have 5 foursomes to date, but need at least 15 more. We also need to sell more hole sponsorships. There are enough volunteers. At the registration table we will sell tickets for the chipping contest, raffle and mulligans. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive pro shop gift certificates. Golfers will receive 2 drink tickets for use on the course. Caribou Coffee is donating coffee for the morning and Jason’s is providing $5 boxed lunches. Fidelity is sponsoring the chipping contest for $500. There will be a cookout reception from 4:00 to 6:00, for which we are paying approximately $13/person. We need to work on recruiting more golfers and sponsors.
Marcie Clark spoke regarding the spring athletic fundraiser. All of last year’s big contributors came back this year. We have $7289 in contributions so far, and may have another $1000 this week. Marcie needs the trifolds from last year’s prizes. Teams are taking donations for the raffle baskets. Based on the information she has thus far, Marcie is estimating a value of $14,000 for our auction items. The Goal Club receives 90% of proceeds from our items. Based on the 80/20 rule, we hope to make $10,000. Marcie will put a package together for next year’s chairperson. The Board thanked Marcie for working so hard on our behalf, especially since she does not have a child in the program this year. Contact Marcie Clark if you have auction items to donate.
The meeting was adjourned.
