Goal Club Meeting Minutes

Eleven members attended the meeting.
Budget Review: There is about $23,000 - $27,000 that is in the account and not allocated for planned expenses.
Starlit Odyssey: Soccer took in $6,100 (second only to baseball). The Goal Club keeps 90% of this amount, the remaining 10% going to baseball. There will be some additional proceeds from ticket sales that has not yet been determined. The soccer coordinators did a great job getting all of the items together. Thank you to Becky Whitesides, Laura Gulia, Kathy Alonzo, Kim Swindall for your hard work.
TitanTron Usage/Cost: Our original understanding of the cost to use the TitanTron was $225 per game ($150 for use of the TitanTron and $75 to pay Mr. Chuven’s staff to operate it). Thus, the cost to run the board for an evening, back-to-back varsity soccer games, was thought to be $450. Based on this, the Goal Club felt that they would plan to use the board during the Chattahoochee game and the Collins Hill game (Senior Nite). Jim McDonald very generously paid to have the TitanTron available for all games. However, there was a misunderstanding about the fee that the board operators would receive making it more expensive than planned. Jim McDonald made another contribution to make up the difference and the meeting attendees voted for the Goal Club to make up the difference.
Golf tournament: Final plans for the tournament will be made in a meeting to follow the goal club meeting.
End of Year banquet: We will hold this at the Metropolitan Club on Tuesday, May 16th. Unnur Kornmayer and Judy Griffin will be chairing this event. Jayne and Barbara have been working with them on financing and plans for handling the large number of seniors.
Goal Club nominating committee: The new Goal Club board takes office on May 31st. A committee has been put together with one representative from each team: Russell Whorton, Judy Griffin, Kohl Collier, Linda Dixon. Anyone interested in running for an office or in nominating someone for the board can contact one of the nominating committee members. Voting for the board members will take place at the end-of-year banquet.
Spring Sports Program: A big thanks to Tracy Wilson and Cherie English for a very nice program. The program is being distributed to parents or players at the games this week.
Spiritwear: Thank you to Tracy Wilson for handling the Spiritwear ordering this year. She has suggested ways to make the ordering process next year simpler and easier for the vendor to handle. The T-shirts and sweatshirts with errors will be made available to other players.
Senior Nite: Tracy Wilson and Cindy Darby are handling this event. All senior player profiles are due to your team parent by Friday, March 4. On April 18th, all JV players are expected to be present and in uniform.
Turf news: There was some “rumors” that another meeting of the committee had been held to refinance the loan and that the contributions from the teams may have changed. Soccer was not notified of a meeting if it occurred. Kohl Collier will investigate.
