Goal Club Meeting Minutes
April 24, 2006
Eleven members attended the meeting.
Soccer provided food for the Habitat for Humanity crew this past Saturday, funded by donations from the players’ families. Special thanks to Cameron Pratt for delivering it to the site.
Profits from the Golf Tournament are $9,100. Thanks to all those who worked hard to make this event a success. April 23 has been set as the date for next year’s outing.
Budget Review -the costs for running the soccer program in 2005-06 totaled just over $34,000, which was about $3,700 over budget. The primary components of the overrun were coach expense, player expense (primarily food plus uniform costs), and special events. However, total income was over $40,000, which was higher than budgeted. Cash on hand as of June 1, 2006 is expected to be about $33,000 (net of the $7,000 anticipated turf payment for next year). New uniforms will cost about $14,000 for next year, leaving an estimated starting cash balance of $19,000 for August 1, 2006.
Turf news – There is a new agreement for turf payments which has been initiated by the Touchdown Club. Soccer has been asked to sign and agree to this, but there are still many unanswered questions. Our portion of the payment is unchanged at $7,000 per year, but apparently football will pay less than their original annual portion. Barbara Bauschka will contact the appropriate parties to get further clarification.
End-of-Year Banquet – A meeting of this committee will follow this Goal Club meeting. So far only 41 RSVPs have been received. Phone calls will be made to those who have not responded by the April 30 deadline.
2006 Board – A nominee for Vice-President and two interested in the Treasurer position have come forward so far. The nominating committee is still working to find more people interested in serving on the Goal Club Board next year. The term is June 1, 2006 to May 31, 2007.
