Northview Titans Varsity Girls Game Summaries

Northview v. Central Gwinnett - 8-2
February 22nd

The Lady Titans traveled to Central Gwinnett to play the Lady Knights. Just minutes after the game started, Meghan Swindall scored with an assist from Nicole Ernst. The Titans go up 1-0. Soon after, following a penalty call Emily Dixon takes the shot and sends the ball into the keepers' hands, but the keeper can't hold on and the Lady Titans lead 2-0.

Kayla Griffin, Emily Dixon, and Meghan Swindall continue to drive in and shoot on the Knight's keeper who is playing far out of the box.

Griffin drives up the side and sends a beautiful cross to Jessica Pickron who scores a great goal. Score 3-0 Titans. Only minutes pass, and the keeper again is out of the goal territory and Pickron drives up field and shoots past the keeper sending the lead to 4-0.

The Lady Knights get a break away and Whitney Ernst comes out to defend the shot, but is unsuccessful in saving the goal. First half score 4-1 Titans.

The second half continues with the Lady Titans dominating the game. Nicole Ernst takes a shot on goal, but was denied by the Knights' keeper. Emily Dixon follows up however, with an assist to Jen Gornall who scores on the cross. Titans go up 5-1. It wasn't long before Dixon again sends another cross this time to Molly Burke who sends in a shot and sends the score to 6-1.

Amy McDonald kept the momentum going as she shot on goal. Within minutes Jessica Pickron again with an assist from Kim Bereznak puts the Titans ahead 7-1. Jessica scores a hat trick!

Whitney Ernst ran out on a break-away and made a diving save to deny the Lady Knights. However, an incredible curve on a corner kick would give the Lady Knights another score.

Kayla Griffin was amazing as she had four shots on goal. The pressure was continual as the Lady Titans played their game.

With only minutes left in the game, and a scrambling of players and the Knights' keeper, Nicole Ernst found the loose ball to score.

Final Score 8-2 Lady Titans!
